There appears to be some debate taking place in the U.K. at the moment regarding compulsory annuitization.

Somewhat ironic from a timing standpoint as the American Academy of Actuaries just released its response to the DOL / Treasury request for information.  AAA came out in strong support of annuities as an economically efficient way to address longevity risk.
