In response to the other reviewer (and in defense of the product), the Polaris Advisor III from SunAmerica has no surrender charges.

Seems that this product is maybe intended for the higher-end registered investment advisor market.

Commissions are low at 2.5 percent and the product is a sort of stripped-down version of their other offerings.

No bells and whistles.

Living benefit riders are not available and high liquidity with the lack of surrender fees.

Seems like it might have been built for the fee-based market.

Anyone know why SunAmerica's Polaris Advisor III?

SunAmerica refers to their guaranteed living benefits as their Income Plus and Income Builder "income protection features".

Neither of these living benefits are available as rider options on Advisor 3.

Also, the minimum and maximum purchase amounts seem very high.

Last, the max commission level is very low at 2.5 percent.
