Jackson National seems to have emerged as one of the leaders in the U.S. variable annuity market over the past few years.
The Perspective L series comes with a load of interesting investment options. Almost 100 different investment vehicles that fall into either individual investment vehicles or a sort of bundled asset allocation portfolio.
The asset allocation portfolios are pretty much turn-key and they provide access to some interesting "alternative" investments.
The L series also comes with a relatively short surrender charge schedule. Industry norm seems to be around 7 years. Jackson L series is a 4 year surrender schedule that starts at 8 percent year 1 and falls to 5.5 percent year 4.
