Penn Mutual has been creating an eye opening series of products over the past several years.

The company has to be considered one of the most--if not the most--innovative life insurance companies in the variable annuity market.

The very interesting thing about this variable annuity is that it adjusts for inflation.

People may wonder how a variable annuity adjusts for inflation since the subaccounts are filled with assets such as mutual funds that may or may not track the rate of inflation.

The answer to this is that it is a guaranteed living benefit rider that allows its income base to adjust based on the rate of inflation.

There are not a lot of annuity products--variable or otherwise--in the market that provide true inflation protection.

This Penn Mutual variable annuity stands-out as an exception.

For those concerned about the potential impact of inflation or hyperinflation on retirement income, take a look at this annuity.
