Jackson National Reports Strong Annuity Sales and Earnings

Jackson National is the latest in a list of insurance companies to report strong earnings and annuity sales. Jackson National Life Insurance Company reported sales and deposits of $6.1 billion during the first six months of 2009. Variable annuity sales were $3.8 billion for the first two quarters. Prudential Earnings Exceed Estimates -- Annuity Business is Strong

Prudential Financial announced quarterly earnings that exceeded analyst estimates. Second quarter net income for the company was $163 million. Prudential's individual annuity business posted strong results. Individual annuity gross sales increased 21 percent to $3.4 billion for the quarter. MetLife Reports Strong Operating Earnings and Variable Annuity Gains
